Teaching and Tutoring

I have 25 years experience teaching art in the community and in schools/colleges particularly to childrens' groups, young people and adults with learning disabilities and elders. I cover a wide range of art and craft projects such a paper mache, paper making, self-portraits, mask making and decorative arts.

I draw from a broad range of themes including art from nature, Aboriginal, Japanese and African art and use references that reflect the community and inspire creativity. I am delivering workshops at weekends, in term time and during school holidays in nature reserve spaces in classrooms. Current projects are Wiggly Woo Art Award project for primary schools and Green Line nature reserve art sessions in Lewisham.

I am an Arts Award Advisor trained by the Arts Council and provide Discover and Explore art workshops that enable children to gain an Arts Award accreditation.

I also provide 1:1 tutoring to children and young people with special educational needs/disabilities who are not in education and need tutoring at home while they wait for a school place. I use art as a medium to embed other subjects such as functional skills making topics more practical and engaging for these learners.
